See the feedback before the room hears more of it.
The band is loud, the room is new to you, and one microphone starts to ring. On the SX2442FX, the answer is on the desk in front of you. Every mono channel has a XENYX mic preamp, with +48 V phantom power for condenser microphones.
Find the ringing frequency by sight
Press FBQ IN and the 9-band graphic EQ points to the problem. The faders for the frequencies causing feedback light brightly, while the others stay darker. Lower the bright faders until the feedback disappears. The EQ works on the main mix or on AUX 1.
Monitors and a voice to the stage
Press PRE on a channel and its aux sends become pre-fader, for independent monitor mixes. A built-in talkback microphone reaches AUX SEND 1 and 2 while you hold TALK TO AUX 1/2. In the break, STANDBY mutes all input channels and only the CD/tape signal reaches the main mix.
Effects on board, tracks out
Two built-in processors each offer 99 presets, including reverb, chorus, flanger and delay. A standard dual footswitch can switch FX1 and FX2 separately. The four subgroup outputs can feed a multi-track recorder. MONO OUT has a low-pass filter from 30 Hz to 200 Hz for a subwoofer.
