BM-12-RING-MODULATOR

Analogue ring modulator pedal with bell-like tones, an LFO, carrier in and out, and expression or CV inputs

Turn one plain note into a struck bell.

You play a single note and the pedal answers with bell-like tones. The BM-12 is a ring modulator working against an internally generated carrier wave. MIX decides how much of it you hear. At 0 you hear only your original signal, and at 10 only the ring-modulated one.

Set the carrier, then set it moving

The MODULATOR rocker switch picks LO or HI, along with a bright or dark filter. FREQUENCY sets the carrier speed within that range; on LO, it runs from 0.6 Hz to 80 Hz. An LFO in square or sine then sweeps the carrier. AMOUNT sets its depth, and RATE sets its speed from 0.1 Hz to 25 Hz.

Play it with your feet or with voltage

RATE, AMOUNT, MIX and FREQ each have a ¼" TRS jack for an expression pedal or another voltage-based controller. LFO OUT exports the LFO for other voltage-controlled devices. Plug a carrier wave into CARRIER IN and the internal oscillator disconnects. CARRIER OUT shares the internal carrier with other devices.

Find the right level first

Turn DRIVE until the LEVEL LED mostly lights yellow, with occasional flashes of red on peaks. The BYPASS LED shows green when the effect is active and red when it is bypassed.
