The synths are on the desk, the DAW is on the laptop and the pattern is still in your head. On the BCR32, every step of the sequence has its own rotary encoder. One step sounds wrong? Turn its knob and hear the pattern settle.
Shape the groove by hand
Each of four tracks takes pitch, velocity, length and timing for every step. Push a note ahead of the beat or let it lag behind. Turn a step into a chord, or make a track a drum track with sixteen voices. A scale setting keeps the notes in key. Playback can run backward, as a pendulum or at random.
One button, a second instrument
Switch to controller mode and the same 32 encoders send CC, NRPN and other MIDI messages. Learn mode assigns a control from incoming MIDI, and the display shows what you are editing.
Analogue gear and MIDI from one desk
Four 1 V per octave CV outputs control analogue pitch. Four gate outputs switch between 5 V and 10 V. Sync in follows an analogue clock, and sync out starts and stops other devices. MIDI in, two MIDI outputs and USB-C connect the rest. The pattern in your head now plays every synth on the desk.
