CAT

Duophonic analogue synthesiser with two VCOs, a 4-pole low-pass filter, Poly Chain and Eurorack format

Händler finden CAT (0718-AAH)

Two notes at once from two analogue oscillators.

A bass line under one hand and a lead line over it, both from one analogue synth. Connect your MIDI keyboard and set KEYBOARD CONTROL to POLY. VCO1 then plays the highest note you hold and VCO2 the lowest, so two notes sound together.

Blend the waves by ear

Each wave output has its own slider, so you set its volume independently. VCO1 offers sub octave, sawtooth, triangle and pulse. VCO2 adds sub octave, square wave and sawtooth. Flip SYNC and VCO1 follows the frequency of VCO2 for complex sounds.

Filter and envelopes for every note

FC and Q sliders set the 4-pole low-pass filter; at the full upper Q setting, the VCF oscillates. The VCA follows either the ADSR or the AR envelope. ADSR REPEAT repeats the ADSR at a speed set by the LFO. In AUTO, it keeps repeating after you release the key.

On the desk or in the rack

The CAT is a USB class-compliant MIDI device, with no extra drivers for Windows or macOS. MIDI THRU passes data on to another synthesiser for a 16-voice Poly Chain, set up with SynthTool.exe. The CAT can also leave its chassis for a standard Eurorack case (not supplied), at 70 HP. The guide recommends an experienced service technician for this.
