Get a sound first, then follow a cable.
You want to learn how a synthesiser works, one connection at a time. Start the way the guide does. Connect a keyboard over MIDI DIN or USB, raise the volume, open the filter and turn up MIXER 1. Then patch, listen and learn.
Two oscillators, a sub and noise
OSC 1 offers triangle, saw, square and narrow pulse. OSC 2 can play its own wave or the SUB oscillator, hard-sync to OSC 1 and detune by ±7 semitones. MIXER 3 adds white noise. The filter sweeps from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, with resonance and key tracking.

Patch points that show the signal path
The patch jacks are 3.5 mm TS. Patch in the 6 dB/octave high-pass filter, or use the attenuator for normal and inverted values. MIDI notes also arrive as NOTE CV, GATE and VELOCITY outputs, ready to patch.

Patterns and a little space
The sequencer stores 3 separate sequences of up to 256 notes each. The arpeggiator plays notes in the order played, then in reverse, or at random. A built-in reverb has its own dry/wet control, and USB MIDI works without a driver.
