A bass line you can shape by hand.
Some bass parts sit under the song. Others carry it. TORO is a monophonic analogue bass synthesiser with 2 VCOs and a ladder filter. Press a preset and play, or switch to the panel and build the sound yourself.
Start from a preset
TORO, TUBA and BASS each select a preset. VARIABLE switches to the panel controls. The FILTER control moves the cutoff of the 24 dB/octave filter on the presets as well as the variable panel.
Shape every note
OCTAVE chooses LO, MED or HI. B-MIX-A balances the A and B oscillators, and BEAT fine tunes the second oscillator by ±2%. GLIDE sets the rate of portamento between notes. ATTACK runs from 5 to 560 ms, DECAY from 50 ms to 2.8 s. EMPHASIS adds resonance around the cutoff point.
On the desk or in the rack
MIDI IN and THRU use 5-pin DIN. USB is class compliant, so Windows and Mac OS need no driver. PITCH CV, FILTER CV and GATE IN take control from modular gear. Out of its factory chassis, TORO fits a standard Eurorack case, not supplied, at 80 HP. A 10 pin to 16 pin adapter ribbon cable is supplied. The guide recommends an experienced service technician for the fitting.
