Tonight the track asks for a chord. Tomorrow the same voice may speak, strike a drum or become a string. On GRIND, choose from 24 digital sound engines in three banks, then shape them through an analogue ladder filter.
Three knobs that change their job
Pick chords, speech, a super saw or a wavetable oscillator. Switch to modal strings, or drum models: bass drum, snare, hi-hat, cowbell and toms. Timbre, Harmonics and Morph take on a new role with each model. On the bass drum, they set attack brightness, frequency and decay time.
A filter that closes as the note fades
Choose low-pass, high-pass or a low pass gate. The gate lowers level and cutoff together, so a note loses its highs as it gets quieter. Hold BANK and turn Morph to set its ring time.
Play with the pattern, keep the original
Store 8 banks of 8 patterns, each up to 32 steps. While one plays, add ratchets or accents to every step, dial in swing or mute it. None of it changes the stored pattern, so you can play freely and still go back.
Patch it, play it, chain it
Patch pitch at 1 V/octave, or choose the model by control voltage. Play it from a keyboard over 5-pin MIDI or a computer over class-compliant USB. Set up a 16-voice Poly Chain in the SynthTribe app. Tonight's chord and tomorrow's drum wait in the same box.
