A dynamic vocal microphone and a MIDI keyboard: that is the patch the guide suggests to start with. Sing, play a note, and the vocoder joins the two. It fits a Eurorack case at 16 hp.
Bring your voice in
MOD IN is a combination 3-pin XLR/6.35 mm TS socket for an unbalanced modulation source. A switch behind the front panel sets it to mic or line level. The MODULATOR control sets the level of that source.
Choose the sound your voice shapes
CARRIER BANK 1 offers triangle/ramp, square/pulse or multiple wave. CARRIER BANK 2 offers noise, vox or FM. CAR SHAPE adjusts the shape of the carriers, and FORMANT sets the spectral peak. CARRIER IN replaces the internal carrier with one from an external source.
Play it from MIDI, CV or a computer
The 5-pin MIDI IN controls the internal carrier frequency and envelope gating. The USB-C socket does the same over USB MIDI. It also connects to the SynthTribe app for settings and firmware updates. CV IN sets the carrier frequency from an external CV source, from -3 V to +7 V. GATE IN triggers the envelope generator from a v-trig source. MIDI IN, CV IN and GATE IN are deactivated when an external carrier is used. The power cable and mounting screws are included.
