Your voice, ready for its first episode.
Your first episode starts with your voice. The UM2 gets your microphone into your computer over a single USB cable, so you can concentrate on what you want to say.
Plug in the mic, watch the light.
A combination XLR/¼" input feeds a XENYX mic preamp, with switchable +48 V phantom power for a studio condenser microphone. Signal and clip LEDs show that your voice is coming in and light up when it is too loud, so you know when to turn the gain down.
Hear yourself as you speak.
Switch on direct monitor to hear your voice in headphones with zero latency, with the output knob setting how loud it is. Two RCA line outputs connect powered monitors for playback.
Bring in the theme music.
The separate ¼" instrument input, with its own gain knob, lets you play a guitar intro alongside your voice, recorded at up to 48 kHz. At 0.3 kg, the UM2 travels with your laptop and takes its power from it over USB. A Mac needs no driver; the Windows driver is a download from behringer.com.
