Two channels of dynamics, set by the step.
The mix is nearly there, but the peaks jump out and the quiet parts fall behind. The 369 gives each of its two channels a limiter and a compressor. The signal enters and leaves through custom Midas transformers on balanced XLRs.
Every value in clear steps
The limiter threshold is a rotary switch, from +4 dBu to +15 dBu in 0.5 dBu steps. Make-up gain is another, from 0 dB to +20 dB in 2 dB steps. ATTACK switches choose Fast or Slow. The limiter takes 2 ms or 4 ms, the compressor 3 ms or 6 ms. Analogue meters show gain reduction from 0 dB to 20 dB.

One stereo image or two channels
In STEREO, the two sidechains are linked internally, so gain reduction is always equal in both channels. In MONO, the two channels work independently. Using more than one 369? Link their control voltages for multi-channel compression.

Out of the path at a flick
BYPASS switches feed the input signal directly to the outputs, with true relay bypass. Bypass is also enabled automatically when the unit is powered down.
