Speakers, headphones and talkback under one hand.
Between takes, you check the mix on small speakers, then on big ones. Then you tell the singer in the live room what to try. The STUDIO XL puts each of those moves on a button.
Three sets of speakers, one volume knob
MONITOR A, B and C each switch their own speakers, with a trim from -12 dB to 0 dB. One VCA volume control sets the level sent to the monitor outputs. MONO sums them to mono, MUTE silences them and DIM lowers them by 20 dB.

A headphone mix for the performer
CUE SOURCE feeds the cue bus from the aux mix input, the selected 2-track source or USB 3/4. INPUTS/CUE blends your inputs with that cue. Each PHONES output has its own level and its own 2-track or cue selector. A rear STUDIO/PHONES AMP output feeds a headphone distribution amplifier.

Talkback from a button or a footswitch
TO CUE and TO 2-TRACK send the built-in microphone to the cue bus or the 2-track output. An external mic on EXT MIC (XLR) can take over, chosen with TALKBACK SELECT. A standard footswitch on FOOT SW toggles talkback on and off.

Record through Midas-designed preamps
It has two Midas-designed preamps, and 48V applies phantom power to inputs 1 and 2. Over USB, it is a 2-in/4-out sound card at up to 192 kHz. REC SRC SEL records inputs 1 and 2, or the 2-track output that combines all sources.
