More low end, with the crossover built in.
Your powered speakers carry the vocals well. The kick drum and the bass line need more weight underneath. An active subwoofer underneath adds it, and its crossover splits the signal for you.
A crossover already inside
Two XLR inputs, A and B, take balanced cables. The OUTPUT jacks send each signal on through a 100 Hz high-pass filter, ready for mid- and high-frequency satellites. The THRU jacks pass full-range copies instead. Run one sub in mono, or two in stereo.
Tune the low end to the room
HIGH CUT sets the upper corner frequency for the subwoofer, from 70 to 150 Hz. It leaves the THRU and OUTPUT signals untouched. BOOST adds +10 dB at a frequency you pick from 40 to 90 Hz. If sub and satellites cancel each other, switch PHASE from NORM to REV.
Clear signs while you play
A green SIGNAL LED shows input arriving. The red LIMIT LED lights on overload. If it flashes continuously, turn LEVEL down. Inside are a 307 mm (12") woofer and an optical limiter. Maximum SPL is 122 dB at 1 m, in half space.
