Close and focused, or open to the room.
An acoustic guitar up close. A drum kit from above. A group of singers around one stand. Each asks for a different kind of pickup. This condenser microphone comes with two capsules, so you choose the pattern for the job.
Cardioid for focus and separation
The cardioid capsule comes screwed onto the shaft. It picks up sources in front strongly and sounds to the side less. That gives good separation and helps you avoid feedback. Up close, the proximity effect slightly lifts the low frequencies, so position and angle shape your recording.

Omni for the sound of the room
Unscrew the cardioid capsule anticlockwise and fit the omnidirectional one. It has no proximity effect and picks up much of the diffuse ambience. Use it for natural-sounding recordings, or to pick up several singers together.
A pad for loud sources, a filter for rumble
A switchable -10 dB pad is there for extremely high sound pressure levels. A switchable low-cut filter removes floor rumble. The 18 mm diaphragm covers 20 Hz to 20 kHz, and the microphone needs +48 V phantom power. A stand adapter, windscreen and transport case are included.
