MA400

Personal monitor headphone amplifier that blends your microphone with a mixer or hi-fi feed, with XLR mic thru

Where to buy MA400 (0835-AAG)

Turn your own voice up without asking the engineer.

The band is loud, the monitor mix is busy and your voice keeps slipping under it. Asking for more between songs only goes so far. The MA400 puts two signals in your headphones, your microphone and the mix, and lets you set the balance yourself.

Your mic and the mix, each with its own knob

Plug your microphone into MIC INPUT, and send it on to the mixer from MIC THRU, both on XLR. Feed MONITOR INPUT from an aux send of the mixer or from a hi-fi unit. MIC LEVEL sets the volume of your microphone and MON LEVEL sets the mix. Hear yourself sing, or concentrate on the main programme.

Ready for the feed you have

Set MONO/STEREO to match the plug: MONO for a TS connector, STEREO for TRS. If ground-loop hum interferes, push in GND LIFT to break the ground connection to the mixer. Headphones plug into the ¼" or the 1/8" PHONES connector, but never both at once.

Made for studio and stage, the MA400 weighs about 0.38 kg. Its 12 V adapter is included, and connecting it to the mains switches the unit on.
